The Kent brand was launched in March 1952 by the American company Lorillard. These were long (70 mm) and expensive cigarettes in the traditional American soft pack of the 1950s. The brand was named in honor of Herbert Kent, the head of the company at that time.
Kent cigarettes were the first to have a filter. In the 70’s of the 20th century the brand was bought by British American Tobacco, which allowed to bring KENT to the world markets.
